Five signs to know if you're a medium.

I get asked this question quite a bit and it's pretty straightforward.
First, I must explain that anyone and everyone can communicate to the other side. This is not a skill or gift reserved for the "sacred few."
Trust me. If this were the case, I would not be a "chosen one."
It is important to reflect on what "mediumship" actually is: a service.
It is devoting your life and skills to being the bridge for the Spirit world and the world of the embodied. This does not mean work-for-free, by the way (don't get me on my soapbox about the toxic belief that spiritual jobs means being poor), but rather, communicating with other's passed loved ones to provide insight and healing in an energy exchange of monetary value.
But how do you know if this is your path, your calling?
I've got five signs, to start, that will clue you in on it. If you can resonate with most, if not all, then I'd say mediumship could be a part of your path, if you so choose it.
SIGN #1
You've had ghostly phenomena and/or other paranormal experience(s) happen to you.
This almost seems like a "gimme" trait. I have interviewed hundred of mediums and all but one had ghostly experiences as a child or as an adult at least once.
This is a clue that you are sensitive to energy.
Spirit sees the light within you and like a moth to a flame, they surround you (not to fear, though; they just want to be seen and heard). Spirit are opportunists. If they know you'd be aware of them in that very moment, they will do something to try and get your attention.
And make no mistake: if you think about them, they will be around. They are energy and quite literally a thought away.
SIGN #2
You have trauma or experience disassociating with your body.
Okay, so this can be an unpleasant thing to discuss, but disassociating can come with trauma, not 100% of the time, but most of the time.
When you leave the body &/or when you need to be hyper vigilant and aware of an unsafe person, you develop a sensitivity to energy. You begin to practice a skill of going somewhere else in our mind while our bodies autonomously moves forward.
The caveat to this is the act of disassociating and hyper vigilance is a fear-based trauma response and will inherently illicit fear when connecting to the Spirit world in the beginning.
SIDEBAR NOTE: You never need to protect yourself from the Spirit world; they are gentle, loving and energizing. If the Spirit world ever feels unsafe, violent, dangerous or unpleasant, it is simply evidence of who they were when they were embodied. Once this evidence is expressed, it will go away.
Now, I have met a medium where she has never experienced trauma, but she actually enjoyed playing in the astral and ethers as a child--almost like daydreaming.
SIGN #3
You have a fascination with magick, ghost stories, haunted locations, horror movies or scary novels.
These sort of hobbies and interested are your soul speaking to you. I can almost guarantee that you were a medium or oracle in a previous life!
This isn't to say that haunted locations, horror movies or scary novels don't frighten you. It simply underscores the familiarity of mystics and magick on Earth. Your soul knows there's more to the Matrix, this 3D world in which we live. Your soul knows something exists beyond what we can physically see, feel and hear.
You may have programming and conditioning piled on top of these innate remembrances and gifts, but your higher self is vibrating with this knowledge and attempting to ignite a desire to look into it more!
Also, having a family member help facilitate these interests with their own ghost stories, psychic abilities &/or mediumistic skills could be a major clue that this path could be for you. Being exposed to otherworldly energy and made to feel like it's normal can assist you in keeping your heart and mind open to it--and could be a soul contract between you and said family member, helping pave the way to your path of Spirit-world-service.
SIGN #4
People are drawn to you and you want to help
Mediumship, the calling--the act of service, is a healing modality.
Grief from a lost loved one can be a heavy, dense energy to carry where an evidential mediumship reading can alleviate the pain of loss.
There must be a desire within you to want to help others through this loss.
If people are naturally drawn to you, outside of grief, for sage advice, insight, space to feel, or just to talk, you have a beautiful light beaming to other souls that recognize the healing powers you carry.
SIGN #5
You are actively looking for information about this subject.
Hel-lo! You actively consuming all that you can on this subject--hell, even reading this article--strongly suggests that you are a medium!
When you "hem and haw" about whether to do something or not, it implies that your head and heart are out of alignment.
I invite you then to consider what programming or conditioning is threaded within this desire that is holding you back...?
Fear? Fear of your power, perhaps? Fear of being different? Fear of judgement? Maybe you had a scary experience that you don't quite understand...?
Maybe you were told by family or friends that talking to Spirit is evil? Dangerous? Weird? A lie?
Let me let you in on a little secret...
There are a million and one reasons and excuses NOT to do something impactful and great!
But your heart is speaking to you.
Your soul is speaking to you.
The path will always be there, dormant, but ready. And when you decide to take the leap, it will clear for you and take you down a beautiful, winding road of self-discovery, love, friendship, travel, and expansive experiences that would otherwise remain a distant, still dream.
But you've got this. I believe in your power. Even if you don't yet.
